This position serves as a senior logistics management specialist for a VA Health Care System (VA HCS) with multiple campuses and supported catchment areas, responsible for supporting the CSCO in the development and integration of a cohesive, forward-looking supply chain that ensures the logistical requirements of a VA HCS and supported catchment area are met.

Duties

Major Duties Include: Integrates and aligns acquisition, delivery and management of supplies, equipment and services to ensure the successful delivery of patient care. Directs all supply management, material management, production control activities. Ensure efficient allocation of resources for assets through the entire lifecycle (which includes planning, requirement determination, procurement, maintenance/upgrade, management/utilization and disposal). Develops and executes remediation actions of deficiencies. Plans and coordinates with fiscal, acquisition, clinical and administrative operations in the managing and integrating of supply chain operations. Plans, develops and adapts the supply chain management procedures as needed to coordinate the management and control of all expendable (EX) and non-expendable (NX) inventory. Conducts cost-benefit analysis for procurements through the total supply chain. Utilizes financial information to match projected expenditure rates with acquisition lead times and anticipated workloads. Plans, organizes and assigns work to subordinates engaged in logistics and property management through subordinate supervisors. Participates on or leads various national workgroups that are established to improve and re-engineer logistics operations, systems and policies. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/21/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
