You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT KEY WEST of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Duties

You will conduct quality review of facilities' dynamic and non-dynamic systems. You will perform control inspections of buildings to determine the exact conditions. You will work with Facility Management and Sustainment Division Technicians to ensure accuracy of Inventory Management Systems. You will use software programs to input inventories, task lists, job packages and maintain the installation technical library. You will organize and acquire programmed maintenance data. You will use work management database systems to manage financial, administrative and operational business processes.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner acquisition certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using various Engineering Information Technology Systems to record and access data (e.g. financial reporting and tracking, maintenance, repair and construction); 2) Preparing cost estimates to assist in the determination of technical and cost reasonableness; 3) Utilizing contract plans, specifications, and drawings to conduct infrastructure assessments and execute maintenance action plans; 4) Preparing job orders to identify facility construction and maintenance issues.
