You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the FACILITY & PLANT MAINT DIV, FACILITY & INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT DEPT of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will perform cost benefit analysis, taking into consideration testing, cost, production lead time and risks, prior to authorizing approval of alternate source methods.
You will input information directly into maintenance databases for ordering job materials.
You will advise management on policies and procedures for maintenance, planning, provisioning, and supplies of material handling equipment.
You will engage in verifications to certify availability of spare and repair parts, repair sources, or repair documentation to support the installation.
You will write correspondence to define equipment requirements.
You will plan required materials and tools to meet deadlines using required work methods, practices and procedures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position requires rotating shift work.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of industrial/facilities equipment and associated materials along with an understanding of related trade skills. 2) Applying knowledge of supply system catalogs and other resource documents available to provide assistance in the acquisition of materials. 3) Incorporating knowledge of pertinent instructions, policies, practices and procedures governing procurement of goods and services by and for the U.S. Government. 4) Utilizing knowledge of systems including, but not limited to, Navy Industrial Material Management System (NIMMS), Maximo®, GSA systems, and CONOPS and associated feedback reports and work documents.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Undergraduate Education: Major study -- any field of study in an accredited college or university.
Graduate Education:Major study -- fields related to the position to be filled.
