As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as an Assistant Branch Manager within the Office of Airports (ARP), Eastern Regional Airports Division (AEA-600), Safety and Standards Branch (AEA-620).

Duties

Provides principal technical advice and guidance to the Safety and Standards Branch Manager in the administration of airport engineering/standards, airport certification, and other safety programs. Makes recommendations regarding assigned programs to the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to: 1) Direct technical or management-level experience applying processes related to airport engineering/standards, airport compliance with federal obligations, Safety Management System (SMS), airspace evaluation, and airport safety and certification programs.As a part of the Federal-Wide Hiring Reform Initiative (streamlining the hiring process), the FAA is committed to eliminating the use of the Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA) narratives from the initial application in the hiring process for all announcements.
