The primary purpose of this position is to be the single point of contact responsible for planning, administering, developing and evaluating a complete training and readiness program for all employees assigned to the Logistics Readiness Squadron.
Duties
Develops the Logistics Readiness Training Plan.
Develops Education and Training Materials and Testing Procedures.
Manages the LRS Training Program.
Conducts various training courses for assigned squadron personnel.
Educates and assists activity managers and designated activity trainers on effective education and training programs.
Serves as the project manager for the Training and Education Automated Management System (TEAMS).

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instruction Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcript(s).
OR
Experience: Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
Supervising or administering a training program.
Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.

EDUCATION: successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcript(s).

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants have a combination of experience and education to qualify for this position and the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.Note: you MUST submit a copy of your transcript(s).
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of LRS programs and objectives, military and civilian training program processes or training program processes in parallel business and industry organizations in order to develop comprehensive training programs, identify training requirements, skill upgrades, and development programs that will assist in meeting squadron objectives.
Knowledge of basic budget preparation as it applies to preparing operating and capital expenditure training budgets.
Skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques in order to develop self-contained training courses, obtain training resources and assess overall effectiveness in order to meet identified training requirements.
Skill in the use of automation software and related equipment.
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to include the ability to deal with diverse populations from educationally disadvantaged or vocationally underdeveloped to college graduates, is necessary.
Ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires federal agencies to treat an eligible active duty service member as a veteran, disabled veteran, and preference eligible (as applicable) when applying for civil service positions before the effective release or discharge date. Appointment of military members before the release or discharge date is permissible if the member is on terminal leave. At the time the active duty member applies for a civil position, he or she must submit a "certification" memo in lieu of a DD-Form 214,
Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. Active duty members applying for a civil service position without submitting a valid certification memo or DD-Form 214 with their application will render the member ineligible for the position.
