Duties
Serves as the Supervisory Security Program Manager with supervisory responsibility for employees carrying out HQC Physical Security, Antiterrorism, Force Protection, Intelligence and Emergency Planning programs.
Provides management and operational supervision to subordinate employees within the Security Management Branch.
Ensures command officials are provided advice, assistance, and support pertaining to assigned programs.
Responsible for implementing DLA security programs ensuring that all actions taken are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Conducts oversight at HQC for Emergency Planning, Antiterrorism/ Force Protection and Operations Security (OPSEC) programs and practices for supported organizations.
Advises the Chief, Public Safety, on issues relating to the physical security, its effect on Operations, new security technology designed to defeat criminals and terrorists, and identification and protection of critical assets.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Security Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Interpreting physical security regulations and policies and developing procedures, instructions, and criteria pertaining to the programs.
Conducting oversight reviews, surveys, and inspections to assess the impact of changes in regulations relating to physical security.
Researching and implementing new and improved security programs, to include procedures and training standards.
Monitoring program effectiveness and compliance of organizational elements and external activities with regulations, policies, and instructions.

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
