The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as supervisory training instructor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Apprentice Maintenance Data Systems Analysis Specialist Course, ensuring that the course complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents 363d Training Squadron, Maintenance Analysis with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic and/or advanced levels.
Develops and/or revises lesson plans and training materials for Analysis curriculum.
Maintains professional and technical expertise.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance procedures, aircraft system theory, common test equipment, common tool usage, technical orders, automated maintenance management systems, safety, security, management and maintenance directives. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction to include the use of training aids and devices used in training programs. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of instructional design and materials development. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education orLL.M., if related to a subject area related to the position to be filled. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Note: You must submit copies of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction to include the use of training aids and devices used in training programs. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
2. Knowledge of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.
3. Knowledge of statistical methods of data analysis, computer application software, data retrieval techniques, the operation / maintenance of MIS, the procedures for maintaining and correcting data systems, the interpretation and use of reports from MISs, and the presentation of maintenance data., safety, security, management and maintenance directives.
4. Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
