You will serve as an INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DIVISION of OFFICE OF NAVAL RESEARCH.
Duties
You will provide advice and oversee the execution of the program relative to the development, planning, and implementation of information security processes for the protection of classified or controlled unclassified information.
You will coordinate, administer, and implement the Classification Management Program for the Office of Naval Research, world-wide.
You will administer the ONR information downgrading and declassification program and provide direction and supervision for the control of classified material in ONR HQ.
You will serve as the Foreign Disclosure Officer for ONR's global enterprise to oversee and manage foreign visits, liaisons, and assigned personnel.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to lift items weighing from 15 to 45 lbs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 11-12) or pay band (NO-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an Information Security Specialist. Specialized experience must include some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating comprehensive and expert-level knowledge of information security requirements established in legislation, federal regulations, and various policy statements; 2) Reviewing issues and applying appropriate resources to the various programs and projects supported by ONR; 3) Exhibiting detailed knowledge of emergency planning and contingency management concepts in order to support development and execution of the building Occupant Emergency Plan and Office of Naval Research Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP); and 4) Providing extensive guidance to various advisory panels supporting the Chief of Naval Research.
