As an Outdoor Recreation Planner, GS 0023-12, you will provide technical planning assistance, coordination, and support on cooperative conservation and outdoor recreation planning projects for the National Park Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program working with government agencies, non-profit organizations, tribes, and community groups, as authorized under the Organic, Outdoor Recreations, Wild and Scenic Rivers, and National Trail Systems Acts. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/15/2025-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: serving as a planning and/or design specialist creating outdoor recreation and conservation plans that includes convening broad coalitions of stakeholders, resource analysis, mapping, and site and area plans; collecting, organizing and presenting information about such projects to decision makers and strategic audiences, mediating as needed to build consensus and closely related work supporting both enhanced outdoor recreation and natural resource conservation.
