You will serve as a Librarian in the Infrastructure and Content (I&C) Department of the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
Duties
You will evaluate current and new electronic resources to make sure resources are available to support library operations.
You will assist customers with identifying and acquiring technical documents.
You will identify technologies and uses that support access to and delivery of library services and resources.
You will research multiple databases and files to locate and identify material requested by clients.

Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying professional knowledge of all aspects of library principles, concepts, methodology, operations, and management to accomplish library functions; 2) Selecting monographic materials in all formats for purchase or allow discovery using hybrid models; 3) Using innovative technologies for building, organizing, storing, classifying, analyzing, and weeding collections in a variety of formats; and 4) Applying knowledge of established procurement rules and regulations and internal organizational acquisition policies for the preparation of complete and accurate order information. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Assisting in selecting monographic materials in all formats for purchase or discovery using hybrid models; 2) Assisting in supporting acquisitions workflows in Library Services Platform; and 3) Assisting in decisions to purchase materials in print or electronic format; and 4) Applying knowledge of established procurement rules and regulations and internal organizational acquisition policies for the preparation of complete and accurate order information. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For GS-9:
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or master's in library science or equivalent graduate degree, e.g., LL.B. or J.D., related to the position.
For GS-7:
Applicants must meet the requirements specified in paragraphs A or B below.
A: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree.
Or
B: A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
