About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, Joint Personal Property Shipment Office-Mid Atlantic, Personal Property Management Division, located in Coronado, California or Jacksonville, Florida.

Duties

Advise military/civilian personnel regarding the shipment and/or receipt of personal property. Determine entitlements for shipments/storage for military personnel, their dependents, and/or civilian employees. Coordinate shipments ensuring efficient and/or economical transport of personal property. Reviews documents related to shipping costs and/or methods. Manages inbound shipments ensuring compliance with regulations.

• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• This is a Term position scheduled to last 6 years.
• Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience for the GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating the shipment of personal property; 2) Updating transportation records using automated systems ensuring completeness; and, 3) Estimating additional costs for shipments that are excess weight and/or distance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-05: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment. Time in Grade Requirement GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
