You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT/NETWORK) in the Information Technology Branch of Marine Corps Community Services South Carolina, of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.
Duties
You will Participate in the planning and delivery of a full range of customer support services to the organization.
You will Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot any hardware and software components.
You will present formal and informal training and assistance to customers and reports, responds to, and resolves customer’s request.
You will participate on a team designing, developing, testing, and implementing software for less complex programs, such as modifying
input forms.
You will test and debug programs according to detailed requirements; and submits completed applications software to the project leader.
You will assist in the development1 configuration, installation, and maintenance of networked systems including Local Area Networks (LAN’s)
and Wide Area Networks (WAN’s), and performs network configuration management functions.
You will Install local building infrastructure as needed to facilitate the connection of networked equipment.
You will Configure network switches, perform network diagnostic and install network software fixes and upgrades.
You will Create network maps and troubleshoots network problems such as outages and latencies.
You will Participate in the planning and execution of unit and systems testing, installing programs at customer sites, providing support on
execution problems, and modifying applications as necessary.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
IAT Level II certification is mandatory within 6 months of assignment to position, as required by DoD! 8S70.l-M. Employee must possess and
maintain Security or similar accepted certification.
This position is subject to recall for outages, issues, and upgrades.
Requirements

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal services or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: verifying hardware and software and equipment are in accordance with DOD policy and directives
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintaining customer hardware and resolving software problems in response to customer reported incidents.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Working with personnel to plan, coordinate and resolve issues by influencing people to work towards mutual goals and have basic cooperative attitudes.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Troubleshooting, diagnosing hardware/software interoperability problems by repairing and applying software patches. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems or accomplishing work processes by using information technology (IT) systems such as computers, servers, routers, etc.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
- I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
- I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or
