The Personnel Security Division is seeking a Supervisor responsible for making critical national security adjudicative decisions for the Agency. You will develop and lead a branch of Security Specialists and collaborate with stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring a wide range of national security and adjudicative issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Duties
Collaborates with management, peers, Office of Protective Services community, and stakeholders to provide advice, integration, and support to agency components to determine the impact of security programs on the mission and objectives of the agency.
Recommends policy and procedures relating to national security clearances, continuous vetting, and rap back and provides operational guidance, and translates policy into operational guidance.
Assigns work to subordinates based upon priorities, consideration of difficulty, requirements of assignments, tracks, and ensures timely processing through completion.
Provides advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both technical and administrative matters.
Ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products, and services.
Reports to the supervisor periodically on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and individual and team training needs.
Oversees and monitors NASA's Identity and Access Management system (adjudication database) to ensure sensitive security clearance information are entered properly, accurately, and in compliance with policies and procedures.
Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Requirements
- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

- This position may require a one-year supervisory probationary period.
- Position subject to pre-employment background security investigation.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Evaluating and adjudicating Continuous Evaluation /Continuous Vetting alerts and/or national security background investigation and takes appropriate action through resolution;
Participating in the development of agency wide personnel security plans and policies which includes supporting the national security background investigation and adjudication process for federal clearance holders;
Participating on a team to review and provide guidance in processing of cases, including potentially controversial, sensitive issues, or those that warrant a denial or revocation of security clearance.
