This position is part of the Western Area Power Administration. As a Executive Officer, you will be managing workload analysis, planning, systems, and execution, communications, and administrative operations.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at one of the duty location(s) identified.**
Duties
As an Executive Officer, some of your duties will include:
Manage workload analysis, planning, systems, communication, and administrative operations for the Sierra Nevada Region.
Perform administrative duties to include planning, prioritizing, and scheduling meetings, deadlines, and workload deliverables.
Develop procedures, presentations, briefings, and speeches that improve the understanding of Sierra Nevada Region programs and activities.
Serve as the Records Lead for records management, maintenance, retention, and disposition.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
To qualify for the Executive Officer, GS-0301-09:
Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience includes (2) of the (3) following:
Assisting with the preparation and/or distribution of written materials (reports, articles, pamphlets, speeches);
Assisting with or performing administrative duties in the areas of records management, mail procedures, travel, and/or collections;
Assisting with or performing budgetary and/or contract administration duties (i.e. review/process invoices, monetary awards, overtime, calculating budget items.
OR completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or LL.B or J.D. (You must submit relevant transcripts.); OR possess a combination of the specialized experience described in A and education described in B that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. (You must submit relevant transcripts.)
To qualify for the Executive Officer, GS-0301-11:
Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience includes (2) of the (3) following:
Assisting with developing new information materials and/or conducting workshops/seminars/meetings;
Executing administrative and/or contract operations (i.e. records management, developing questionnaires, review or approve invoices, calculate budget items);
Utilizing qualitative and/or quantitative analytical techniques for administrative work (i.e. task analysis and job structuring, productivity charting, determining staff to workload ration, ect).
OR completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M (You must submit relevant transcripts.); OR possess a combination of the specialized experience described in A and education described in B that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. (You must submit relevant transcripts.)
To qualify for the Executive Officer, GS-0301-12:
Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience includes (2) of the (3) following:
Identifying and/or resolving organization's program operation or workload issues;
Utilizing verbal and written communication to develop new information materials, conduct workshops/seminars/meetings, explain policy and/or enhance others understanding of organization's programs;
Improving program effectiveness or organization productivity (i.e. track or monitor workload accomplishments, develop records management or automated work methods, improve program operations or processes).
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
