This is a Solicitation of Interest to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill an excepted service Administratively Determined position (Title 10) at Marine Corps University (MCU)/Education Command (EDCOM), Quantico, VA. The purpose of this AD-09 position is to serve as Director for the Academic Support Division. This position is a Title 10 faculty member, reporting directly to the Provost, MCU. Duties
You will provide University level academic oversight and curriculum coordination by managing the MCU Curriculum Review Board (CRB).
You will ensure curricula are reviewed as prescribed by MCU policy; coordinates school presentations for the CRB; ensures relevant, topical curricula issues are reviewed by the CRB; ensures proposed changes to curricula are reviewed by the CRB.
You will facilitates information and resource sharing among MCU educational programs.
You will ensure that the officer and enlisted educational continua are current and properly utilized throughout the curriculum review process.
You will Serve as the University's primary representative and liaison with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to ensure MCU maintains its academic accreditation.
You will maintain currency on all issues related to accreditation; serves as the MCU expert on accreditation issues. Attends the annual SACSCOC meeting.
You will oversee drafting and coordinates submission of appropriate documents affecting SACSCOC accreditation for the University. Completes and submits annual SACSCOC membership documents and dues.
You will ensure a continuous culture of accreditation exists in all MCV educational programs through the accreditation working group and other on-going efforts.
You will oversee the reaffirmation process for the university.
You will provide oversight of Joint Accreditation for the University. Ensures that all joint accredited programs meet all reporting deadlines. Maintains currency on all issues related to joint accreditation.
You will write academic policies and procedures to support and define the education processes and standards of the University. Coordinates the revision and submission of annual updates to the MCU Academic Regulations.
You will participate in appropriate University committees and working groups.
You will provide management and oversight of CERP activities as directed by the Provost.
You will serve as first level supervisor for a staff that, at a minimum, consists of Registrar (GS- 11/12); Director, Leadership Communication Skills Center (AD-09); Faculty Development Lead (AD-09) and three Education Officers.
You will serve as higher level reviewer for a minimum of four civilian positions reporting to the Registrar and Director, LCSC.
You will organize, monitor, and evaluate the work of all direct reports.
You will prioritize, assign, schedule, and coordinate work across the Academic Support Division.
You will manage staff work in requisite DoD platforms. Develops performance plans to ensure that they are carefully aligned with individual position descriptions as well as Provost's mission and organizational objectives.
You will perform regularly scheduled individual employee evaluations to ensure that work is being successfully and professionally executed and that both performance and behavior are acceptable. Document any issues and makes recommendations as needed.
You will manage personnel actions for the Academic Support Division. Update position descriptions as needed. Satisfies all command, DON, and DoD requirements to execute hiring actions.
Requirements

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
A master's degree or higher in a field related to higher education, national security, or professional military education is required.
In addition to the master's degree, you resume may must show
Knowledge of professional military education and related subjects and the Process for Joint Education (PAJE).
Knowledge of military training organizations, their interrelationships, and the training and education policies of higher headquarters as they relate to providing advice to the President, Marine Corps University and Provost on the application of the practices and procedures of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the civilian higher education community to the MCU's formal schools.
Knowledge of policies and procedures standard within the civilian higher education community, General knowledge of institutional accrediting organizations, such as SACSCOC.
Familiarity with management techniques sufficient to advise on the effective and efficient use of resources.
Skill in written and oral communications in order to provide advice on academic matters.
Familiarity with institutional effectiveness and assessment practices.
Ability to provide authoritative guidance, advice and policy interpretation to high level management officials, program managers, and other staff.
Ability to interpret and communicate program guidelines and policies to senior leadership with regards to technical procedures, programs, standards, and policies.
Ability to properly develop and package briefings, papers or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
