About the Position: This Security Officer position is assigned to the US Army Acquisition Support Center, Defense Exports and Cooperation DASA DE&C, located at Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serves as a Special Security Representative for DASAs DEC.
Manages the information, personnel, force protection, industrial security, and intelligence programs both at the Collateral and Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) level for DASA DEC.
Responsible for all matters involving preparation and implementation of the DASA DEC personnel, physical, COMSEC, OPSEC, and SCI Security Programs.
Serve as an Individual Antiterrorism Travel Coordinator for DASAs DEC assisting customers with the submission of foreign travel request in the IATP data base.
Analyzes accident and injury reports to discover trends and mishap causes, and to develop recommendations for eliminating or controlling detected hazards.
Recommends corrective procedures where potential for injury or property damage exists.
Ensures access controls are uniform to maximum extent possible throughout the agency.
Manages a document review program for the expeditious retirement of historical materials, proper destruction of excess materials, and to reduce classified holdings.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is defined as: 1) Provide guidance on the monitoring of classification regulations; 2) Establish security policies and procedures for organization and all stakeholders; 3) Conduct security education programs that provide security briefings to all personnel; and 4) Conduct physical security inspections for facilities to find security vulnerabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
