This position is located in Pecos National Historical Park, in the Administrative Division.
Duties
Provides general administrative function support assistance to staff; prepares personnel actions in automated system for employees and new hires; and serve as primary timekeeper offering administrative services when needed.
Monitors automated financial systems to help manage all financial transactions (i.e., procurement, property management, purchasing, charge cards and payments of invoices and bills).
Serves as a property clerk to issue keys and badges and other property, and to assist with annual inventory and disposal of property.
Serves as assistant for office and provides basic administrative support, and professional customer service to employees, leadership and general public.
Attending meetings and serving on appropriate work teams, committees and make recommendations.
Perform assignments in accordance with all NPS and U.S. Treasury regulations governing the handling of government funds.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position requires the skill of a qualified typist with the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.

To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Files maintenance, basic budget tracking, and preparation of a variety of forms and reports. To be creditable, your experience must have involved the performance of various office duties, including typing correspondence, memos, report, and forms from rough drafts and notes. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours). This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to 1 year of specialized experience. For example, six months of the specialized experience described above (50% of the experience requirement), and three years of college study from an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education) which included at least 12 semester hours of related coursework as specified above (50% of the related coursework required). Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. NOTE: Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements.
To qualify for this position at theGS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience may include but are not limited to: Operation of computerized information systems; drafting reports and correspondence for management from data sources and related files; inputting and processing data related to budget and finance; preparing purchase requests/documents; inputting time and attendance data into a timekeeping system; purchasing and completing required documentation; budget tracking; preparing and entering personnel actions; and coordinating travel arrangements. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
