This position is located in Information Technology, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

Duties

Participates in developing, debugging, and documenting service-based architectures and technologies, including Open AI, SOAP, REST, gRPC, and other. Participates in Teams SCRUM calls with colleagues and members of other development teams and stakeholders. Writes and maintains documentation for Azure AI services in Azure Devops (or equivalent system). Provides professional recommendations for the design and development of AI services.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience. Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Note: An applicant who meets the basic requirements as specified above. Experience: Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Creative Thinking - Uses imagination to develop new insights into situations and applies innovative solutions to problems; designs new methods where established methods and procedures are inapplicable or are unavailable. Information Systems/Network Security - Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information systems vulnerabilities, and provide or restore security of information systems and network services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Technical Competence - Knowledge of how to perform one's job. Refers to specialized knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience. Writing - Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material that is appropriate for the intended audience. and Specialized Experience: To minimally qualify for the PG-2210-13, your resume must reflect one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-12 pay band in the federal service which includes the following: (1) Utilizing an Agile software development methodology and will adhere to all established Dev/Sec/Ops practices in implementing Software systems. (2) Utilizing extensive knowledge of developing scalable, secure, and maintainable internally and externally-facing web services APIs. (3) Writing detailed design specifications to aid in the development and maintenance of AI Web services and applications. (4) Designing and Developing .Net and Azure systems and system components that fulfill the customer's needs, meeting all agency IT Security requirements, meeting all department requirements for code quality and maintainability, and adhering to department design standards and conventions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement 01/16/2025to be considered.
