You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Joint Military Operations (JMO) Department of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will be the executive secretary to the Chairman, providing direct executive secretarial and receptionist support. You will receive all official and personal calls and visitors, determining the identity and nature of the call or visitor. You will receive all correspondence for the department, replying to mail not requiring personal attention by the Chairman. You will arrange schedules and maintain the calendar and appointments for the Chairman, using initiative and judgment to avoid conflicts. You will be responsible for properly administering the civilian and military performance evaluation program for the department faculty and staff.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing office automation software such as Microsoft Office, to generate correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets in accordance with organizational guidelines and policies; 2) Assisting with travel arrangements including scheduling visits, arranging lodging and transportation, and monitoring availability of funds, and maintaining voucher submission status; 3) Managing general administrative office duties of maintaining files and records, in addition to calendars and appointments, and receiving all office calls and visitors; 4) Displaying excellent interpersonal and communication skills to receive and relay information accurately; and 5) Assisting the Mission Resources Manager with monitoring the departmental budget.
