The position is located in the Buildings and Grounds section of the Lower Brule Clinic, of Lower Brule, South Dakota.

Duties

1. Installs, modifies, maintains, and performs preventive maintenance on various plumbing systems. 2. Installs, modifies, maintains, and performs preventive maintenance on various low voltage electrical systems. 3. Installs, modifies, maintains, and performs preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.

Work is sometimes performed on ladders and/or scaffolds, which requires employee to work overhead or in stretched, cramped or awkward positions. Work is performed inside and outside in all kinds of weather and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy. Incumbent may perform work where bad smelling fumes are present. Incumbent has frequent exposure to broken bones. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
