You will serve as an Equipment Specialist at PSNS, Bremerton, Washington.

Duties

You will manage a variety of projects and tasks involving planning, production, maintenance, repair, overhaul, testing and disposal of specialized and unique Ocean Engineering equipment. You will lead meetings with engineering and support groups during all phases of the equipment lifecycle and coordinate with the PMT to ensure repairs and upgrades are incorporated. You will ensure equipment is certified and ready to support required schedules; evaluate possibilities of alternative measures leading to more timely and economical completion. You will provide recommendations based on observation of equipment operations and maintenance history to be considered for future improvements of assigned equipment. You will coordinate with Project Management Team (PMT), various production shops and design codes for the maintenance and repair of MOST, WFSE, MAE, and MHE equipment.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing the system performance (including design and operation) of equipment systems associated with ocean engineering, providing solutions to maintenance and operational issues during maintenance and certification periods to improve the production, maintenance, repair, overhaul, or testing of specialized and unique ocean engineering equipment. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing the design or operation of equipment systems associated with ocean engineering to support the production, maintenance, repair, testing, or disposal of associated equipment. Education

For the GS-11 grade level ONLY, you may substitute the following education for the specialized experience:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in a field related to the position.
OR
Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D or equivalent degree with a major study in a field related to the position.
OR

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
