This position is located within the VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville, IL aligned under the Education Service that reports to Designated Learning Officer. This position responsible for supporting the Clinical Simulation/REdI Program Coordinator in the Simulation Lab and throughout the facility and Community Based Outreach Clinics to meet the education needs of the Medical Center staff.

Duties

Assists with the planning, development, and coordination of a variety of clinical simulation programs, venues, and educational projects. Maintain simulation / REdl lab documentation and resources by adhering and assist in developing operational policies/standards, produce simulation support materials, generate simulation lab reports and assist in media development related to simulation. Perform post simulation activities such as debriefing playbacks, administer student and faculty evaluations, catalog recordings and return lab to pre-scenario conditions Provides support as needed in the SIM lab to include scheduling, orientation of students and faculty, maintaining attendance logs and providing technological support. Responsible for monitoring computers, photocopier and printer. Maintains inventory of office supplies including copier paper and toner. Generates TMS and Simulation lab reports. Responsible for being a TMS Learning Manager Install software and hardware upgrades and maintain functionality of manikin components as directed by manufacturers support. Manage lab supplies as evidenced by keeping an inventory of supplies/equipment, organizing, ordering and restocking, and assessing needs of the end-users. Provides one on one instruction on basic computer functions as well as assists Veterans in accessing MyHealtheVet, eBenefits, Veterans Health Library, USAJOBS and other sites. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/06/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Planning, development and coordination of clinical simulations programs, venues and educational projects. Role playing experience to create a virtual environment for a healthcare setting. Knowledge of different simulator technologies. Experience with office automation applications. Able to assemble and troubleshoot equipment used in the delivery of simulation training. Skilled in various computer programs. Knowledge of basic policies, procedures and requirements governing various training or education programs. Skilled in routine fact-finding and searching files to find relevant information and to logically organize and report on collected information. Physical Requirements: The work requires physical effort. There will be walking, standing, bending, carrying of items such as task trainers, manikins, boxes of training equipment, movement of equipment such as beds, overbed tables, chairs, etc. Typically, the employee will configure the simulation center or in-situ area to meet the requirement of the simulation activity that will take place. Simulation equipment may weigh in excess of 50 pounds. Work Environment: The duties of this position will be performed in the Clinical Simulation Center as well as in training areas throughout the Medical Center and the CBOCs. Incumbent must be familiar with the Medical Center.
