This position is being filled under Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for Financial Management Experts.
This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Directorate TCJ8. The incumbent will serve as a Budget Analyst.
Duties
As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Responsible for all aspects of the formulation, development and execution of information technology and capital budgets and financial plans to properly fund and meet program resource requirements for one or more future budget years.
Provide financial advice on budget-related issues such as types of funding available, effects of budgetary changes or related activities for decision making.
Represent the organization within USTRANSCOM or with external organizations, providing financial management counsel through financial briefings and staff engagement.
Implement knowledge of budgetary practices, procedures, policies and regulations.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Present, develop, justify and execute budgets and financial plans to properly fund and meet resource requirements
Provide financial analysis of budget-related issues, to include budget strategies and techniques to meet changing priorities and resource allocations
Apply results of financial/budget related analysis to solve problems and make recommendations
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
