The primary purpose of this position is: To manage the installation Catholic Program and to assist the Wing Chaplain in fulfilling the Chaplain Corps' mission of ministry to the Roman Catholic personnel at the installation.

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the installation Catholic community, ensuring that the Catholic program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and those of AMS and meets customer needs.
Represents the organization and the Catholic Community to a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Provider of Roman Catholic worship, liturgy, rites and pastoral care.
Exercises management oversight responsibilities.

- Full/part-time employees occupying direct childcare positions are eligible for discounts IAW DAF AFSVC/CC Memo, 30 Sep 22; first child 100% / each additional child 25%. Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount.
- Obtain and maintain Security clearance
- Must be an ordained Roman Catholic priest in good standing with the Archdiocese of Military Services and must maintain a valid DD Form 2088 signed by the latter for the duration of employment.
- Subject to background investigations including STATE CRIMINAL HISTORY REPOSITORY CHECKS (SCHRC)
- May be required to work a non-traditional work schedule to include over-time on holidays, evenings and weekends
- Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with staff members and the Catholic Community
- Must remain current in all required training

Chaplain Series 0060
There is no OPM qualification standard for this series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year at the next lower grade of GS-09 or equivalent in the Federal Service.
RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of Scripture, teachings of the Roman Catholic faith and Canon Law.
Knowledge of the role of Catholic clergy in a diverse and pluralistic military religious environment.
Ability to oversee a comprehensive Catholic religious education program serving adults and children.
Ability to assist in traumatic stress response counseling, pastoral crisis intervention and suicide prevention counseling.
Ability to work well with chaplains and religious affairs airmen in an ecumenical/interfaith setting.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
