The Program Support Assistant, as an extension of the Chief of Primary Care, assists and supports Primary Care in a daily administrative functions, outcomes management, performance measures, and logistics/supply management. The incumbent provides s a variety of services essential to the direction, operation, and functioning of primary care independently plans and carries out all assigned projects in accordance with pre-establishment deadlines and agency policies.

Duties

Uses computers, report and spreadsheet creation and management to include data mining, generating reports and pulling data from various sources Organizes and maintains records in support of activities associated with environment and facilities management. Provides programmatic support in key areas to include clinic setup and maintenance, data mining/reporting, and support related to space and equipment. Provides customer service principles, patient rights and responsibility, and service recovery and has the ability to interact with tact and diplomacy while presenting oneself in a professional manner. Interacts with customers with a diverse and varied background in person, via telephone, email or other correspondence. Performs clerical duties to include time keeping, faxing, filing, typing, using computer applications, preparing clinical and administrative records/charts, assuring accurate and prompt communications, coordinating meetings, completing work orders and copying, etc. Serves as a service level HR liaison, submits and updates service personnel files. Serves as time keeper and back up ADPAC for service Serves as point of contact for staff and residents for computer access and training Provides training on CPRS, VISTA, and Provider packages to new staff Resolves non-complex IT issues, VPN requests, equipment requests, connection problems Trouble shoots software and hardware malfunctions Work Schedule: Full Time - Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: This position is not eligible for Telework. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/16/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as experience operating a variety of technical equipment, i.e., PC in a Windows environment, calculator, copier, fax and other related computer applications; prepare correspondence and reports ensuring correct grammar, spelling punctuation and in correct format; accurate record keeping and maintain a calendar of required reports and ensure proper completion. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Database AdministrationInformation Management Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary but requires walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, papers, office supplies, and Telehealth equipment. Nos special physical demands are required to perform the work. The incumbent must be flexible in adjusting to constant changes in the workload.
