The position is located in Acquisitions department under the Division Acquisitions within Navajo Area, Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, New Mexico. The incumbent services as procurement technician responsbile for performing a variety of technical and clerical procurement support activities.
Duties
Prepares a variety of procurement documentation which requires assimilation of data and special provision to prepare solicitations, contracts and supporting documentation.
Distributes solicitations, contracts and appropriate reports in a timely manner.
Prepares administrative and incremental funding modifications to contracts based on requests from requiring activities and contractors.
Reviews changes to procurement regulations and policies, and coordinates with the supervisor/specialist any required changes to solicitations or contracts.
The incumbent will procure commercial or specialized services, professional medical services and construction projects necessary for the support function of the Navajo Area Office using finance and acquisition system.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-04:
2 years above high school, or
One (1) year general experience related to the position. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-4 level.
GS-05:
4 years above high school, or
One (1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: utilizing a variety of simplified acquisition procedures instruments to establish contracts to acquire supplies; preparing, verifying, abstracting, controlling, or closing out procurement documents, files, reports, and/or records; completing transactions in procuring services; supplies and/or equipment; updating and maintaining the currency of procurement documents or related information.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).

There are no education requirements. You may qualify based on education.
