About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the NETCOM, 9th Army Signal Brigade, 516 Signal Brigade, located at Fort Shafter, HI.
Duties
Develops and disseminates local security directives, policies and procedures.
Provides authoritative and critical security advice and assistance to commanders, office chiefs, and security managers.
Plans, prepares, and presents security briefings, lectures, and classes to command units and personnel.
Plans, assigns, reviews, approves, directs, manages, and supervises office work, operations, personnel, and resources.
Advises and counsels employees on work performance and personnel and administrative matters.
Manages all aspects of Operational Security, Physical Security and Intelligence Programs related to support of the DoD Information Network – Army (DODIN-A) mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation and be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.
- Designated Mission Essential Position: Required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends.

Specialized Experience: One year of progressively responsible specialized experience which includes experience managing security programs that include Information Security (INFOSEC) AND Personnel Security (PERSEC). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
