About the Position:
This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Division, Southwestern in the Executive Office with duty location of Dallas, Texas. The Southwestern Division Public Affairs program provides communication support the the Commander, the Program Directors and all the offices within the Southwestern Division. This position also provides support to the four District Offices that fall within the Southwestern Division.
Duties
As a Public Affairs Specialist, you will:
Serve as principal advisor to the Division Commander and key staff on public affairs including interface with various public and private groups.
Be responsible for external and internal agency level communications activities. This work portfolio includes communicating and educating the USACE program to the public and stakeholders through a comprehensive program;
Comprehensive program includes media relations, social media management, web content development and management, multimedia production management, and staff management.
Serve as managing director of the communications and marketing program responsible for leading the daily operations and support services including public and media relations, employee communications, and content development and management.
Foster a collaborative and collegial work environment that enables inclusive staff input and contribution to office and agency priorities and goals. You will exercise staff oversight over the public affairs program of four subordinate districts.
Provide expert counsel and support to agency executives in planning and executing strategic communications and outreach focused on internal staff and external stakeholders.
In support of USACE Public Affairs Chief, develop and integrate USACE communication priorities to build awareness, attract new audiences, and enhance USACE reputation and reach.
Requirements

- Position requires Secret Security Clearance.
- Obtain and Maintain valid state driver's license.

Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service as follows: conducting a public affairs program for an organization with responsibility for developing and providing staff direction involving all public information, internal information, and community relations activities; advising field office directors and others directly involved with activity operations on handling problems and incidents related to the organization's programs; writing articles and speeches for organization director.
