As the Business Development Lead within the Science Directorate (SD) at Langley Research Center you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Langley's science disciplines in research, advanced instrument development, field and space-borne experiments, operations, data retrieval, analysis, and archive. You will lead and work within collaborative teams to identify and acquire new business.
Duties
Researches, identifies, and targets specific areas for growth opportunities based on Agency needs and Center capabilities and past performance.
Formulates strategies to maintain existing business ventures and innovate reimbursable partnerships with other government agencies or regional collaborators toward mutually beneficial strategies.
Establishes contacts with potential customers, develop and provide Directorate technical capability and needs briefings, and attend applicable technical and scientific conferences.
Develops and fosters teaming arrangements with other NASA Centers, government agencies, private industry, academia, and international organizations.
Assists in the development of overall proposal strategy and scientific and technical content for larger-scale proposal development efforts.
Leads the NASA Langley Science Directorate's New Business Council to inform new business operations and decisions coherent with organizational strategies and subjected to resource availability.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Building and leading teams to successfully acquire science business opportunities;
Establishing Government partnerships among Government agencies, industry, and academia;
Developing and maintaining relationships with senior-level customers and program stakeholders across organizations or agencies.
