About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Duties
Provide warehouse and supply support to military, civilian, and contractor personnel assigned, stationed or within the installation and the assigned Area of Responsibility.
Administer the retail supply programs, including such functions as inventory management, warehouse and storage management, stock control requirements determination, receipt and issue of supplies, oils and lubricants, and hazardous material.
Perform independent systems analysis of complex programs and major problems associated with supply systems and logistics information systems.
Supervise assigned employees and provide program oversight of contractors in seven separate installation supply work centers.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; set and adjust short-term priorities; prepare schedules for completion of work; and assign work to individual employees based on priorities.
Serve as policy advisor and Subject Matter Expert on all matters relating to the installation supply program.
Provide contract oversight as a designated Alternate Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
Work with the assigned COR in coordination with the Quality Assurance Evaluation staff, including, reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating contractor performance and customer service in the Installation Supply branch.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state and/or government driver's license.
- This position may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This position may require the incumbent to work overtime.
- This position will subject the incumbent to be "on-call" after normal duty hours.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Carson Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing an organization's supply program; 2) Developing, evaluating, and/or implementing improvements in supply policies or procedures; 3) Monitoring and/or evaluating contractor performance; 4) Providing guidance on supply management policies and/or procedures; and 5) Leading projects and/or personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
