You will serve as an Electrician in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will utilize skill and experience in how various electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls are installed, operated, and work together to support industrial operations, computer complexes, or similar complex electrical loads.
You will trace hard-to-locate defects or problems and complete repairs and installations with little or no advice.
You will complete written inspection reports, preventative maintenance records, and material request forms.
You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical components in tools and equipment from multiple areas. (i.e. circuit functions in lathes, grinders, drills, presses, oven, furnace controls, and transformers)
You will take initiative to make the work area safe for yourself as well as those around you.
You will accomplish work in accordance with work orders or other instructions, technical manuals, and established trade techniques.
You will observe and adhere to safety rules, shop policies, and ensure that all work standards are met.
You will return equipment to production as quickly as possible.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to work on board ships or pier side.
- This position may require you to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- This position may require you to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 60 pounds in weight and occasionally over 60 pounds.
- This position may require you to do work where kneeling, stooping, or bending is necessary.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
