The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is looking for temporary employees to work as Materials Handlers in Ely, NV.
Duties
A Materials Handler (WG-04) performs a variety of general manual duties and responsibilities in and around a warehouse. Maintains and issues fire supplies while documenting records. May deliver supplies and equipment to fire stations.

Qualifications
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations will be used in determining your qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in your resume.
Screen-out Element: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. This must be verifiable on your application.
To qualify for a WG-04, you must have experience in the operation (day to day activity) of a cache or warehouse in order to procure, issue, control, store and judge the physical condition of a wide variety of equipment and supplies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates.

Physical Effort: Perform work requiring the exertion of heavy physical effort in frequently lifting and moving heavy objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other worker.
Working Conditions: Work inside and outside. When outside, is frequently exposed to all kinds of weather and temperature extremes, drafts, noise, dust and dirt. Is exposed to the possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
