You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLING INSPECTOR in the ORDNANCE & MINES DIVISION within the UNDERSEA WEAPONS DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
Duties
You will perform a wide range of activities involved in receiving, issuing, storing, segregating, selecting, handling, prepping, inventorying, and shipping ordnance material.
You will perform inspections to determine adequacy of operations and facilities.
You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items and certify items as ready for issue.
You will inspect and approve transportation conveyances as suitable for loading, blocking, and bracing.
You will advise management on safety of facilities and planned operations, assure adherence to procedures, and review standard operating procedures.
You will block, brace, and lash any vehicle, vessel, or other conveyance laden with explosives, hazardous materials, or any ordnance related components to the appropriate military standards, weapons requirements, and/or related specifications.
You will determine the detail locations within storage facilities as well as proper stowage of cargo within vessels in accordance with the load plan.
You will load and offload ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels, and other conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, and stackers.
You will handle ammunition, explosives, countermeasures, pyrotechnics and all components of such.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
