This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Southern Region (SR), Stennis Space Center with one vacancy located in Hancock County, MS. Duties

As a Program Support Assistant, you will perform the following duties: Serve as Cross-Functional Procurement Support liaison between requestors, requisitioners, and approvers in the preparation, submission and processing of requisition transactions. Provide cross-functional administrative and procurement support to program and project managers within the assigned branch, and other branches as required. Provide administrative support to the Director's office and Technical Staff in the absence of the primary executive support provider.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-07 level: Applicants must possess at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Performing staff support work that includes budgeting, purchasing, supply management, personnel administration, data processing, and records management; Utilizing a variety of office automation software to proofread, produce, review, route and track various types of written communication; and Initiating and completing at the micro-purchase level procurement, purchase order, requisition, invoice processing and reconciliation.
