Joining the Secret Service, Office of Investigations, National Computer Forensics Institute Division will allow you to educate and train members of the Secret Service's network of cyber fraud task forces, State, local, territorial, and Tribal law enforcement officers, prosecutors and judges on the investigation and prevention of cybersecurity incidents, electronic crimes, and related cybersecurity threats.
Duties
The selectee will serve as a Training Program Analyst in the Office of Investigations, National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI). Typical work assignments include:
Developing, coordinating, and conducting extensive trainings via various unit subprograms.
Presenting operational requirements and plans relative to educational equipment, systems, and new materials to evaluate training proposals and objectives.
Evaluating training research and/or issues to makes recommendations regarding the overall execution of these subprograms.
Analyzing operational training programs and their interrelationships to conduct needs analysis and studies of current and projected Division-wide programs
Determining the availability of manpower to accomplish needs assessments to enhance operational efficiency of the international training program.
Qualifications
GS-11 Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $73,230.00) if you possess one of the following:
Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Evaluating training program data to ensure compliance with regulations;
Reviewing training policies to prepare informational materials on training topics; and
Coordinating training project or program planning to implement improvements or alternatives
OR
Applicant has successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this work. Note: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim.
OR
Applicant has a combination of specialized experience (less than one year) and graduate education (beyond 2 years of graduate education), that when combined equals 100% of the qualification requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of two years (generally 36 semester hours) may be used in this calculation. You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) and your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet the experience to support your claim.
GS-12: You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $73,230.00) if you possess one f ull year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Collaborating with law enforcement entities and/or agencies to establish training program objectives;
Conducting training needs assessments to develop course content to meet the needs of employees and/or an organization; and
Determining strategies and/or teaching methods to be utilized for instruction delivery to the intended audience.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
