You will serve as a OPERATION SPECIALIST in the REGION OPERATIONS CENTER (ROC) of HDQTRS NDW.

Duties

You will prepare reports, respond to queries, Executive Summaries, create and publish emergency mass notifications, and prepare of daily operational briefs. You will assist and respond in Continuity of Operations (COOP) actions, to include relocation from current Region Operations Center (ROC) location to COOP emergency relocation sites for extended periods. You will make recommendations to the successful accomplishment of the Region mission and understand the Navy’s Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) technical tools. You will conduct operator level maintenance, and troubleshooting, and coordinate repairs for activities from start to completion. You will verify personnel have undergone the proper personnel investigation and hold the proper security clearance.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You may be required to receive an annual or pandemic influenza vaccine.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing, processing and reporting emergency management information related to daily operations and manmade or natural emergencies; 2) Managing and operating emergency management systems and control software to execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); 3) Performing planning tasks to include working groups, workshops, exercises and studies for Emergency Management Program; 4) Supporting or participating in special projects, research, and ongoing analyses, investigations and initiatives that have high priority. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. For the GS-11:
Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

For the GS: 9:
Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
