Duties

You will ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools available and obtained from supply locations from needed. You will check the progress of assigned work and once complete, ensure it complies with supervisor's instructions. You will answer questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. You will provide supervisors with updates on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and issues. You will ensure housekeeping rules are followed such as assuring machine capacities are not exceeded and tools are properly used.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to furnish the normal tools of the trade used on a day to day basis.
  • This is an essential position requires during destructive weather conditions (e.g. ice and snowstorms, high winds and hurricanes) may be required to report for duty.
  • This position is subject to call back for work during off-duty hours when an emergency arises.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Lead Or Supervise; I have the ability to lead employees in accomplishing trades and labor work such as repairing Industrial Equipment and HVAC systems.
