The incumbent will serve as a Physical Security Specialist in the Security Programs staff located in the Criminal Division, Office of Administration. The Security Programs staff is responsible for personnel security, physical security, information security, and emergency management programs in the Criminal Division.
Duties
As a Physical Security Specialist, your duties will include:
Assisting the subject matter expert for SCIF and secure area/room construction. Helps ensure SCIFs comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as mandated from JMD or other oversight agencies.
Acting as a system administrator for the physical access control system (PACS) and PIV card program.
Assisting in evaluating and developing classification management policies and implementing procedures for originators, recipients, and custodians of National Security Information (NSI), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Assisting in developing facility security plans and emergency plans.
Assisting with maintaining the Division's security equipment to include badge readers, CCTVs and turnstiles.

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must have one of the following:
One year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-09 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include reviewing and developing plans and designing facilities to ensure appropriate security and counter-terrorism measures are included; inspecting new and existing facilities to ensure adequate security countermeasures are implemented; researching security systems; maintaining security equipment; and aiding in conducting evaluations of emergency management programs; OR
PhD or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
Combination of specialized experience and education.
Combination of Education and Experience - Your current education completed is credited as a percentage of the education required for the grade level and your current experience is credited as a percentage of the total experience required for the grade level. The two percentages are added and must equal 100% in order to qualify for the desired grade level.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools that meet this criteria, see www.ed.gov.
