About the Position: This position is located at 72nd Medical Group, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
Duties
Serves as Scheduling Coordinator, Receptionist, Template Manager, Appointments Coordinator, and Managed Medical Care Consultant.
Coordinates clerical duties inherent to front desk operations in the patient care setting.
Provides data as necessary to complete routine, recurring, and special data calls
Adjusts times of appointments, based on changes in health care provider's schedule
Basic knowledge of clerical skills to include sorting, filling, and labeling.
Basic knowledge of peripheral equipment operations including keyboard operation on data entry equipment.
Establishes priorities in relation to the administrative workload
Independently handles scheduling problems based on personal knowledge of clinic operations
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes documenting patient charts in a medical treatment facility (MTF) or clinic setting, scheduling patient appointments and/or coordinating patient referral appointments, and/ or preparing reports utilizing medical treatment facility computer systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
