You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs Office of NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.

Duties

You will coordinate events (e.g., tours, media activities) to represent an installation and command personnel in civil or public affairs and community relations. You will oversee coordination of public engagement activities to promote agency projects or enhance the understanding of agency's programs. You will prepare speeches and presentations for senior command leaders to provide guidance and advice on the best way to convey the information. You will coordinate the design, composition, and printing of brochures, pamphlets, or fact sheets of organization accomplishments used as background material for media representatives or for public distribution. You will present information at briefings to represent the organization. You will serve as a liaison between organization and media representatives and community groups. You will advise others on web public information policies and procedures for social media sites. You will draft responses, speeches, or other written materials for internal and external audiences. You will provide supervision of 1 civilian position with potential support from contractor or military personnel. You will assign work in terms of priorities and objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing a public affairs program to include executing community events; 2) Maintaining official websites, social media accounts, and/or content management systems for public affairs information dissemination; 3) Writing speeches, news articles, and/or briefs to disseminate information; 4) Presenting public affairs information with media and community groups.
