You will serve as a AUTOMOTIVE WORKER in the Maintenance Division, Recreation Department of NAVSTA MAYPORT.
Duties
You will use lathes, undercutters, drilling machine, carburetor systems, and pressure and vacuum testers to inspect, disassemble, recondition, repair, or replace components of engines and vehicle accessories.
You will analyze test results to locate improperly functioning vehicle parts for repair or replacement.
You will maintain mechanical, electrical, and electronic accessories used with gasoline and diesel engines.
You will annually overhaul 9-15 units of specialized groundskeeping equipment .
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: Diagnosing malfunctions through the use of test equipment such as AVR (Amperage, volt and resistance) tester, oscilloscopes, gas analyzer, and dynamometers; Selecting replacement parts; adjusting engine idle, voltage and current control valves, expansion valves and pressure regulator valves.
