About the Position: Serve as a Senior Congressional Actions Coordinator for the Congressional Inquiry Division with responsibility for providing expert advice and guidance in the handling of senior leader inquiries from Members of Congress. The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Analyze written correspondence and telephonic requests to determine pertinent issues.
Research sources from which to obtain information and facts to provide comprehensive and accurate replies.
Handle varied and simultaneous ongoing correspondence, each at different stages of completion and covering diverse functional areas.
Initiate and effect appropriate coordination with the Department of the Army, the Office of the Secretary of the Army, Department of Defense, and other Executive Branch agencies, to include the White House, when appropriate.
Provide advice and guidance to functional experts outside OCLL on how best to articulate official Army decisions.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing input for the preparation of official written/telephonic congressional inquiries; interpreting policies for initiatives that are of critical interest to Congress; partnering with those both within and outside of the organization to execute high visibility tasks such as Congressional briefings and/or ceremonial events; and collaborating with various committees, Senate and Congressional members ensuring protocol/procedures are adhered to. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
