You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC in the Joint Region Marianas (CJRM), assigned to Naval Base Guam (NBG) Port Operations Department of US NAVAL BASE GUAM.
Duties
You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance of various types of harbor support equipment to include fender camels, separation brows and platforms.
You will inspect a variety of equipment, machinery and boat trailers including the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance.
You will obtain descriptions, opinions and recommendations on the nature and extent of repairs required through discussions with operating personnel.
You will maintain and repair boat trailers to include all safety and load bearing equipment, hitches, wheel bearings, lights and braking systems.
You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of waterborne equipment including work boats, utility boats, security boats and barges.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current forklift license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain (SIMBBC)
and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) courses and
applicable PQS.
- You must complete Personal Qualification Standards requirements (PQS) as assigned by the Region Program Manager to include Maintenance and Material Management (3M) and Lock-out/Tagout qualifications.
- You will be required to complete Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain (SIMBBC)and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) courses and applicable PQS.
- You will be required to become Facility Response team (FRT) qualified.
- You will complete all standard oil spill response training as required by 29 CFR 1910.120.
Qualifications
