You will serve as a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the Production Resources Department (900), Electrical Shop (950) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will review assigned JO's/JIC's, plans and specifications, plans, and lays out work/worker assignments. You will see that necessary tools, equipment, and material to do the job are available when required. You will resolve any problems that may arise, such as ambiguous aspects of the JO/JIC specifications, and plans, unattainable completing dates, substitution of material, additional manpower, etc. You will instruct subordinates on any unusual work steps or requirements and explain directives and instructions received from higher supervisory levels. You will check work while in progress and when completed to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. You will provide on-the-job training for new employees. You will assure compliance with fire, safety, good housekeeping, and other regulations. You will ensure that adequate tools, materials, and equipment are available, properly used, stored, and maintained. You will keep minor work records and prepare reports requested by higher supervision. You will troubleshoot, repair, modify, test and calibrate complex electrical/electronic and electromechanical test, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
