About the Position: This position is within the Commander's Staff Public Affairs Office at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA. This position may be filled at the GS-09 or GS-11 grade level.
Duties
Leverage expert knowledge of industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Quark Xpress, MS Word, PowerPoint, etc., to create graphics, designs and digital media products that support organizational goals.
Develop innovative design solutions, including logos, brochures, and presentations, to meet organizational needs and brand standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective communication strategies, including social media, print, video, and public relations.
Engage with clients and team members to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions within tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be willing to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 20% of the time.
- Must complete a one-year probation period.
- Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required by management to meet work requirements.
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain an OPSEC 2 (Operations Security 2) Certification within one year from date of hire to this position.
- Must be willing to successfully complete the Public Affairs Defense Information School's course within two years from date of hire to this position.

GS-09 Specialized Experience Requirement: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with the design and creation of visual materials using intermediate-level proficiency in industry-standard Design and Office Productivity software; 2) contributing to multimedia content creation by assisting with graphics, video editing, photography, copy writing, and presentation preparation; and 3) partnering effectively with team members to deliver quality projects on time. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-07).

GS-09 Education Requirement: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other related fields. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

GS-09 Combination of Education and Experience Requirement: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. of the requirements is at least 100%. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11 Specialized Experience Requirement: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Designing a wide range of visual materials using expert-level proficiency in industry-standard Design and Office Productivity software; 2) developing effective designs, concepts and visual styles based on established precedents, client specifications and project requirements for publications, presentation materials, and various visual media; 3) collaborating on the creation of multimedia content, encompassing graphic images, videos, photography, copywriting, and presentations to support project objectives; and 4) contributing to team success by effectively managing tasks, meeting deadlines, and supporting project goals within collaborative team environments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-09).

GS-11 Education Requirement: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other related fields.
