About the Position: This position is being filled as a Interdisciplinary (Biologist, Ecologist, Architect, Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, or Physical Scientist) for the Corps of Engineers, Operations Division; Tech Support Branch. You will be doing the work of a Dredged Material Management Plan Project Manager.
Duties
As a Dredge Material Management Plan (DMMP) Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Maintain highly sensitive environment with natural resources of national and international significance.
Assist supervisor with administrative mission workload.
Serve as project manager in areas such as; Dredge Material Management Plan (DMMP) and Regulatory Compliance within the District.
Coordinate and negotiate the scope of work to include; budget, planning, scheduling, and environmental.
Serve as the primary focal point and interface with customers, agencies, and the general public
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Possess and maintain a valid State motor vehicle operator's license.
- Obtain and maintain a Corps of Engineers boat certification/license (within one year).

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) professional knowledge of navigation and channel maintenance functions in association with multidiscipline Engineers, Biologists, and technical experts; 2) Prepare Dredged Material Management Plans (DMMP) or related plans to ensure availability of dredge material placement sites for all dredging projects; 3) Serve as District lead for the DMMP program or aspect of the DMMP program and represent the District; AND 4) brief the public, agencies, navigation industry, legislators and politicians at all levels, and special interest groups at national, regional, or local forums about the DMMP. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
