You will serve as a OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST of NAVAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
Duties
You will provide cost analysis support for complex defense weapon systems programs, including life cycle cost estimating, and contract proposal evaluation.
You will conduct data collection, research and analysis.
You will perform analysis to help Navy leadership make informative decisions concerning cost, budget, and schedule over the life cycle of Navy programs.
You will lead cost analysis for program office teams.
You will train entry-level analysts.
You will communicate with acquisition program office staff, technical/engineering teams, defense contractors and external government customers.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting cost analysis of design, production and operations costs for major acquisition programs; analyzing program risks; analyzing cost and schedule uncertainty; and creating analytical models. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Developing acquisition program life cycle cost estimates and providing contract cost evaluations to program managers or organizational leadership for complex defense weapon systems; 2) Conceiving, initiating, monitoring and/or conducting major projects and studies (including Lean Six Sigma initiatives) of critical importance to decision makers; 3) Developing and promoting a comprehensive understanding of cost analysis discipline or of Lean Six Sigma with customers and with the members of the program office team.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus
