This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Domestic Operations (OD)/Sensitive Activities Review Section (ODN).
This position(s) primary purpose is to support management in the evaluation of domestic enforcement programs. Reviews a multitude of operational and proposed programs and plans for accomplishment of stated objectives and adequacy of available and projected resources for specific programs.
Duties
As a Program Analyst ,your typical work assignments may include:
Evaluating and analyzing multi-functional programs, functions, and organizations, e.g. on a region-wide or equivalent scope, to determine whether the management systems in current use efficiently accomplish the objectives sought.
Scheduling and resolving audit/inspection issues and activities for organizations encompassing a major agency component.
Conducting comprehensive studies or projects dealing with significant changes in workforce distribution, positions, or related organizational structures.
Conducting special analytical studies, (e.g., critical path analysis, cost benefit analysis, schedule risk analysis, and buy/make analysis), in support of projects/programs and functional areas.
Preparing reports and briefings on results of studies.
Performing a variety of planning and budgeting functions to increase the identification, documentation, and efficacy of operation initiatives in the budget process through quantitative analysis.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) performing the following duties; reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating programs, activities, systems, reports, and processes. Tracks, monitors and keeps leadership apprised of taskers from the highest levels of government.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) performing the following duties; reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating programs, activities, systems, reports, and processes. Tracks, monitors and keeps leadership apprised of taskers from the highest levels of government. Experience leading studies and/or projects for the purpose of improving program efficiencies and effectiveness.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
