About the Position: Serves as a Housing Manager in the Housing Division/Directorate of Public Works located at an Army Garrison. Responsible for the planning, management, administration, coordination and implementation of the housing management program(s).
Duties
Responsible for direct, on-site management, administration and implementation of projects, facilities, or complexes in support of the housing management programs while utilizing enterprise Military Housing (eMH) database.
Briefs and counsels Active Duty and retired, accompanied and unaccompanied Military, as well as DoD Civilians, and/or Family Members transferring to the installation who seek assistance in locating housing within the local area.
For Unaccompanied Housing (UH) - Assists the supervisor in developing overall installation plans and procedures and development of short and long-range barracks sustainment, restoration, modernization, or replacement projects.
For Furnishings Management - Plans and budgets for maintenance, repair and distribution of family and bachelor housing furniture including furniture for troop billets.
Advises chain-of-command on all aspects of the installation housing program and submits necessary reports and briefings.

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, oneyear of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing housing referral and/or relocation support, 2) Gathering data reports regarding housing programs, 3) Assessing property management and maintenance operations for quality second lower grade/level position in the federal service. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. [remove LL.M., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
