This position is part of the Publication Information and Sales, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
Evaluate resources and recommend changes in the utilization, replacement, or acquisition of equipment, and the implementation of new operating procedures to improve productivity, safety, and security.
Establish workflow, procedures, processes, practices, departmental/section goals, and standards; to meet and support the mission of GPO.
Monitor the receiving, shipping, warehousing, distribution, call center, federal customers web order pages, mail processes, and maintenance operations.
Provide contract oversight as the Contract Officer Representative (COR) or through the assigned COR incoordination with the Acquisitions Services staff.
Supervises, coaches, mentors and trains staff and assigns and approves work.
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.

- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Suitability clearance.
- Selectee must undergo a background investigations for a (enter type of background investigation i.e. Public Trust) Delete if no background investigation is required
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
- Selectee must undergo a background investigations for Suitability.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Facilities Distribution Manager, PG - 2030 - 11 , you must meet the following requirements:
Specialized experience at the next lower grade level PG-09 level includes: includes performing work that involves the following comprehensive knowledge and experience: 1. Managing the physical receipt, custody, care, and distribution of material, including the selection of appropriate storage sites, material handling equipment, and facilities.; 2. Consulting with the Operations Managerin determining which projects to initiate, develops deadlines, and identifies staff and other resources required to carry out an assignment. 3. Managing a variety of duties involved with warehousing functions of consumable materials, supplies, equipment, shipping and receiving of customer orders from order web pages, to include call/contact center operations.
Required to maintain current FAC-COR Level I certifications from the Federal Acquisition Institute or equivalent in accordance with GPO Directive 110-21, Federal Acquisition Certification for Acquisition Services Contracting Officer Representative (FAC-COR) Program at GPO.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level.
